A Winter to Remember

Winter 2011 has been one for the record books. It has been a winter that I think my kids will remember throughout their lives as one s.n.o.w.y winter! We still have half of February and all of March to go, but the kids have had SEVEN snow days. Seven completely valid snow days. Of course three of them happened while Chris was traveling to Wyoming (pleasure) and California (business), so I have learned to become one with the snow blower.

The snow has been crazy....which has been both good and bad. Good because the kids have been able to play in the snow, ski, sled and, of course, stay home from school. Bad because there has been so much snow that there have been ice damns causing leaks in houses, roofs collapsing, school closings due to structural concerns, etc. Roof rakes are the hot commodity. And lastly, the kids now are going to have school during April vacation so they won't be in school through the last week of June.

Luckily, we haven't had any house issues to date. The biggest issue in our house for a while was cabin fever! The pictures have been plentiful and I was going to do one big 'winter' post but became too overwhelmed. So stay tuned for an upcoming posts on all things skiing!

A few pictures of all the snow!

Enjoying the snow....

One cold, sunny day I took the kids to one of the hot sledding spots in town. (Luke was having his own fun with Dad at a Science Museum sleepover!)

And I've really learned how much this Chica loves to be outside. She is usually the first one out and the last one in. She will just sit in the snow and play by herself until she is ready to come in.

We haven't been so lucky on the dry house front. I think Gary was away at the same time as Chris, we should have teamed up!

Great action shots.
